matt had his office christmas party tonight, so the kids and i were on our own for the second time this week. since it is friday night i thought that we should live it up - we made cupcakes. and then madelyn treated mason and i to a "'tend" picnic dinner before baths. she likes to spread a blanket out for us to sit on - preferably one of mason's. you can see that madelyn made cheeseburgers and mason enjoyed a piece of lettuce (madelyn told him that it was salad). he really did enjoy it too.
we had a lovely evening (a dramatic change from the past two nights) and both kids were bathed and in bed with the lights out by 7:45. mommy needed an early night after madelyn started her day at 4am. she was so tired that she fell asleep waiting for me to finish feeding mason before making her pb&j lunch. love.
