rainy day

it has been kind of cool here (low to mid-70s) for the past week and today was rainy too.  i feel like we have been at home too much so we ate an early lunch and then headed to the museum for a few hours - i just love having a pass!
the kids' all love finding everything on their clipboard each time.  i love watching them compare notes and help each other.
since manning is getting more and more mobile (he can free stand very easily now and takes 2-4 steps at a time - i am trying to get video but he will only walk to me on demand and he thinks it is funnier to just fall into me), i let him have time to explore at a few baby-friendly spots in the museum.  i think his favorite was the turtle cage and the aerodynamic demo (we call it the 'ball popper') - manning and maddux could have spent the whole time playing with the air and balls.  manning could actually catch the balls as they were 'floating'.  i don't know why i did stills instead of a video...

after some quiet time when we got home, maddux and i read books for a while and then i went down and built the kids a fort to use while i made dinner.  this was the first fort since manning could crawl apparently because he thought it was the greatest thing ever!!  he kept crawling through and laughing hysterically.  you can't really see the fort in the pictures but both boys are in the middle of it.
i think we are actually looking forward to our rainy day at home tomorrow!  love.
