fireworks!

after dinner we headed out to the front yard to see what all the three uncles brought home.  since it was still daylight we started with 'poppers' (i don't know what they are really called).  everyone had a great time throwing them all over the place and the uncles were having fun throwing them at others... (shaking my head).

we made all of the kids sit a safe distance away while uncle josh shot off a few bottle rockets 

i thought grandma was going to have a heart attack with all the kids running around with the sparklers.  well, it was more that she was worried about upsetting some unstable neighbors...

one of their neighbors across the street and their kids spent the day with us too.  the husband is who is helping mason with his sparklers.  maddux was just happy to hang out on daddy's shoulders - he was struggling to stay awake. 

when it started to get dark and the uncles were going to get out the big fireworks, we put all of the kids in the bed of big pop's truck so that we could keep track of them better.  and grandma brought out some glow sticks and bracelets.

it was a pretty great evening but the uncles bought way too much!  oh my goodness.  the kids were so tired by the time they were done with their purchases.
