tuesday tip - planning road trip stops

i try to find some attraction that falls under our annual zoo or museum passes so that we don't care if we can only stay for an hour to stretch our legs, but that can be difficult because we never really know when we will be where.  so our fall back choice is a mall.  it seems odd but if you stop at a mall for your meal(s), you get to walk around a decent amount and a lot of malls have a play area near the family bathroom in the food court.  this has been a life saver when traveling with non-walkers.  long trips are the hardest on them because they are strapped in when in the car and then in a stroller or carried when you do stop - they get no free movement.

where do you like to make kid-friendly stops on road trips?

love.
