this morning we picked up supplies to take lunch to our friends who just had twins - #4 & 5! i call their mom, kellie, my "blogging buddy" because we keep in touch largely through our blogs, but i have known jon and kellie for years - jon since middle school and kellie since high school. it is nice to be able to see them in person every few years. their kids are just adorable and everyone was having fun until i actually served lunch...

knox and maddux pushing their two-year-old noses on the sliding glass door (they are 6-months apart in age) |
kellie had warned me that the kids were picky eaters. we brought 'chicken' patty sandwiches, salad wraps and french fries (the 'chicken' patties were vegetarian) with assorted veggies and grapes. none of their kids were very interested and there were lots and lots of tears. i was actually trying not to laugh but i just found it comical. what surprised me was that our kids weren't in on the action (they saved their tears for fighting in the car after we left).
and the new arrivals - beckett theodore and winslet genevieve! they slept pretty much the entire time we were there (as most newborns will) but we did get to see them awake briefly and i got to hold each of them. it wasn't until we left that i realized that i didn't take the "twin challenge" of holding them both at the same time. maybe i can do it in two more years with one on each hip.

the boys were pretty taken with the fact that they were in the same crib and maddux kept saying that they were, "so cute" |

the oldest of the bunch - madelyn and lorelai. |
we took the picture at the top right before we were leaving. after the emotional lunch, we were shocked when all of the kids sat right down and looked at the camera! seriously, were these the same kids?! you just never know... love.
