bound to happen

this is the face that interrupted my meeting - but with crying too.  both boys were napping and madelyn was watching a movie and letting her finger nails dry (she has stopped sucking, biting, and picking!) while i had a quick meeting.  the woman i was meeting with insisted that i call back after i took care of madelyn.  i was just going to have her sit and wait for me to be finished with the call (we had about 5-10 minutes left and things couldn't get much worse).

i sat her on a chair in the kitchen with an ice cube on the gum.  while it was hardening, i was googling another option and questioning her on what had happened.  she had been rolling the gum on her forehead and that is how it got so tangled.  i found that peanut butter was good at getting gum out of hair (it has something to do with the oils).  it worked great!  she lost very little hair.  i was so thankful because her spring concert for school was in a few hours and the gum was at the front of her hair - of course.

crisis adverted and a sad girl who won't be getting any more gum for a while.  love.
