park morning

we had a sunny day so we headed to a local park to burn off some energy and blow some bubbles.  the park has a short (under half a mile) walking trail around the parameter that goes over a bridge and large play sets, tennis courts, basketball courts, and racquetball courts in the center.  it isn't too far from the apartment and i am sure that we will make several trips over the summer.  the flowering trees were so lovely.

the kids cheered when we pulled into the parking lot and were a little disappointed (at least madelyn was) that we were taking the long walk around to the play ground.

i don't know what happened over the winter but madelyn decided that she could swing all by herself.  (how do you like her outfit?)

and maddux got his first try at swinging.  he seemed to enjoy it, but then again, this kid really loves the wind.

mason also spent some time with the swings.  he preferred the 'big kid' swing.  it makes me a little too nervous to take pictures yet - i want to keep on full alert for safety.  and when i put him in the 'baby' swing he panicked in a way i have never seen the second i gave him a little push.  he practically jumped out of the swing on his own trying to cling to me.  but he did like the slides!
and so did madelyn.
mason called out "cheese" to me over and over so that i would take his picture on the stairs.  isn't he cute?

and that is our morning at the park.  love.

I definitely need to show Lorelai how Madelyn swings all by herself. I am so tired o fpushing her when I know she could do it if she would just try. I love her outfit, as I always love designs by Madelyn.

This was absolutely one of her better outfits. The real touch was that the pants flare at the bottom and were at least 4 inches too short. It just made it so that you could really get a good look at her socks. :)

I am toally baffled by the swinging. She just sat down and did it. There was no discussion or anything. It was like she had always been swinging on her own. I hope that Lorelai will be inspired - but you know, she can't be great at everything. ;)
