being so excited about my sewing machine, i had several projects that i was trying to get done before christmas. one of those projects were super hero masks for the three bigs to go with the no-sew capes i had made them earlier in the year. but something had to give and it wasn't like they weren't already getting a ton of gifts. honestly, if i had not gotten sick, i might have stayed up very late on christmas eve to make them.
since it is the last day of christmas vacation, i thought it was time to make them. the kids could not have been more excited! they watched me make them - the entire time. it might have slowed down the making substantially, but they were much more invested in the finished product. maddux insisted on having his made first, but he was not willing to wear it for very long.
mason was the one i was most excited for, but his might have come out the worst. the fuse layer between the pieces of felt never really melted (i was melting the felt to the iron and then when i turned down the heat, it just wouldn't work as well) and there was some puckering. i also had some trouble figuring out how long to make the elastic to fit without being too tight. lessons learned for next time.
but we still had a really "super" day! love.
madelyn and mason could hardly contain their excitement |

Yay! I'm sure getting them outside the deluge of Christmas gifts made them stand out. So cute they watched you.
