reminder

i had the kids work on cleaning up the basement today so that we wouldn't have to worry about it over the long weekend.  we have been discussing over the past few months about how remembering to clean up the small messes is a lot easier than having to clean up a big mess.  madelyn thought that it would be a good idea to make a reminder to hang on the gate.

"we will clean when we are all done"
once again, she gets her spelling from me (which is probably why i have no problems reading what she writes).  i am just happy that she has gotten over her fear of making a mistake when she reads/writes.  i know that i have always been terrified of misspelling something and often worked against me in written essays when i had to pick a 'dumbed down' word i could spell instead of having the confidence to misspell something more accurate to what i was trying to express.  there will be lots of time to correct her spelling but i just love her enthusiasm for writing.  love.

I agree, her confidence in writing and reading is far more important than getting everything exactly right. She's only five and doing so well!
