this is a random one... if you are missing socks (especially baby socks), try looking in the small gap of your front loading washer.
i must have found three or four socks there yesterday. they usually need another spin after sitting in that draining water for who knows how many cycles, but then they are good as new.(ew. my washer needed to be 'washed'! i didn't realize how dirty it was until i looked at these pictures. of course, i didn't clean it and then take new pictures because, hey, i'm not perfect.)

Yes, they do get caught there. Easy tip- wipe that area out with a rag every time you're done using washer, then fold /roll up same rag and leave door propped slightly open so washer can air out. If doing multiple loads, wait until done washing the last load. I find socks right away by doing this, and my washer stays tidy longer :)
i know to leave it open when not in use and have never had odor problems. i would never have thought to wipe that part out! thanks!
