for some reason mason was in a mood and that wasn't making matt feel too great about taking him out somewhere for a long day. he wouldn't smile for a picture but kept begging us to take one - like crying begging. maddux was more than willing to show him how to smile for the camera with a, "say 'cheese' like this, mason."
it seems like it was a nice event judging by the pictures and what the kids had to say. matt did not really enjoy himself because mason and maddux were giving him some trouble and there were just too many people for him. he said it might be more fun in a few years and the kids are big enough to really participate well. he said that they all had some trouble with throwing the regulation sized footballs. although madelyn and mason were both able to get it in the target. maddux had some trouble throwing it at all.
it was a fairly nice morning for it and the kids really seemed to have had a great time. it was kind of a bargain at $25 for one adult and up to four kids. the day included morning activities, a chick-fil-a lunch and admission to the hall of fame (an adult ticket is normally around $20).
what i am gathering from these pictures is that madelyn and maddux were racing (matt said mason wouldn't go on anything as part of his pouty attitude today). i like how the second one shows her looking back. i have a feeling she was encouraging maddux on because that is what she normally does with the boys.
apparently "some body hit [maddux'] cheek" in the helmet here and he has been talking about it with a little pout throughout the day. too bad that they weren't all looking for the picture.
and then they had to race off a little early to get matt and madelyn to soccer (not a short drive). love.
