last soccer game of the season

madelyn sent out the soccer season with a bang - and a whine, and lots of tears.  i think she was a little tired and hungry and she kept getting hurt so there was a lot of crying and asking daddy to let her go sit down.  when i reminded her that it was her last game of the season she asked to get back in the game.  to her credit, she still played while crying.  in the picture she is just behind matt running down the field crying.  and she even scored a goal from around midfield after a little breakaway while sobbing after getting kicked pretty good in the side of the knee.

the other team was almost all boys - big boys. and they were there for domination.  mercifully, they went down to three against our five but they were still at such an advanced skill level compared to our little rag-tag team that it wasn't pretty.  i think all of the kids still had a good time though.  one of the little girls on madelyn's team found that it was a lot easier to score in our goal and made a few for the other team.

a great end to a fun season.  madelyn is actually looking forward to the fall season.  and mason will get to play too!  madelyn will move up in the age bracket but matt will get to coach mason.  it should be interesting to see how madelyn does on the bigger fields and how mason does at all.  i think he will do pretty good but we will have to see if he wakes up with a mood like today's.

after soccer, manning and i went off to run a few errands and matt and the kids hurried back to the pro football hall of fame to try and catch the end of lunch and check out the museum for a bit.  it felt a little like a preview for our saturdays for the next 18 years or so...  love.

Oh, that picture is funny. Will be a great conversation piece when she's older. Seems like the other team was a bit of a miss match for Madelyn's team. Looking forward to hearing/reading about Mason's entrance into the soccer world.
