summer is winding down so i asked the kids what they still wanted to do before school starts. the unanimous and quick response was "lunch with daddy at the hospital"! lunch with daddy can be sort of expensive so i packed a lunch today. to keep the kids from being disappointed (they love picking what they want in the cafeteria), we ate outside and let them play on the playground for the first time. after lunch, i let manning on the loose too. he was delighted!

the kids think the hospital is super fun! they asked to get something from the 'treasure chest' in one of the reception areas and on the drive over they were planning which mint or candy they were going to get from daddy's assistant. they seriously think that daddy has the most fun job ever. the truth is that he has been super busy lately, taken on some new responsibilities and is utterly exhausted. i am so glad that he was able to fit us in for lunch. love.
