there wasn't any real injury. it was just a run of the mill falling down while standing up occurrence but he landed on the walking lion toy and somehow chipped his tooth! there was no blood, swelling or even much crying, but he kept crying out off and on like sensitive tooth pain so i called the dentist. they were at lunch so instead of googling about it, i posted this picture of facebook and asked if i needed to do anything. i was (and am) not super worried about him having a chipped tooth (it is a baby tooth after all) but i was a little worried about the seemingly sharp pain he was experiencing.
the basic info is that there is nothing to worry about unless the tooth changes color over the next few months. the pain is most likely from the initial impact than from anything being actually wrong. the dentist said to just keep him away from hot or cold extremes and try to give him soft foods until he feels less pain.
the real question is how did we make it this long without having this already happen? love.
