discoveries

one of my favorite things about watching our kids grow up is when they make a new 'discovery'.  today mason made two that were amusing.

first, mason discovered that he has nipples and couldn't get enough of them.  he was just wearing a diaper most of the day (his choice) and it wasn't that warm today.  he kept asking me what they were called too.  he has the cutest "oh" when he understands something.

the second one is a little gross.  he was letting me know that he needed his diaper changed and just looking at him i could tell that he needed it changed.  it was super saggy with a full load.  he was being silly about it and ended up with his legs spread.  and then he started swinging his hips.  now he was excited.  he was swinging his saggy, dirty diaper between his spread legs.  it was both hysterical and repulsive.  i was trying to keep a straight face so that i wouldn't encourage this type of behavior but it was really difficult.

since i was mentioning mason's 'discoveries', i thought that i might mention two of maddux' too.

first, maddux has discovered how to make a horrible gasping sound for his own amusement.  i remember the other two doing this too and how horrible it is to hear on the monitor when you can't see that they are smiling.  i am hoping that this is a very short lived amusement.

and the second is in the line of mason's, maddux has discovered his penis.  he grips it and laughs hysterically.  it must tickle or amuse him, but it looks painful and makes diaper changing more interesting (read: messy).
