happy easter

we had a quiet easter this year.  we went to church saturday night.  both kids were tired and i had to wrestle them into something presentable, but did not take a single picture.  saturday was such a rough day behavior-wise that we were really tempted to keep the easter bunny from making an appearance, but since all we had were flip flops and easter movies for their baskets we went ahead and put them out (we thought that they might outgrow their flip flops before their birthdays).

thankfully, sunday was much better for the kids.  it was a little weird to not be going to church on easter.  madelyn and i actually ran out to pick up some really great coupon deals (i started getting into it before the extreme couponing show) during naps. i did laundry. and then we made some cake for after dinner.  (the picture is a bunny madelyn drew while the boys were napping.)

we still remembered the miracle of Christ's Resurrection!  (we have actually been talking about it for the past two weeks.) and madelyn was even able to tell us the story in bits and pieces throughout the day ("Jesus broke bread and shared it with his special friends", "Jesus died and then he wasn't there on easter morning"). love.

Your Easter weekend sounds a lot like ours. I debated doing Easter service on a Saturday, but it really did make the most sense for us, and then we got to share it with both sets of grandparents (my parents went to Tampa on Sunday to be with my niece and nephew).

I have heard about that show a ton. What time and what station is it on? That is great that you are sharing the story of the resurrection with your kiddos. We are too, I thought they might be scared about the cross but they handled it well because as they say "he's alive!".

extreme couponing is on TLC on Wednesday nights. it acutally isn't really that informative, but it is interesting. it is funny because all of the bloggers i follow about couponing are saying that it isn't realistic, but you can save in the 50% range. I actually saved 37% this past week and was pretty pleased. it was my best time yet.
