matt has been amazing this weekend and i literally made him a "honey do" list. first he let me go to the grocery store and some other errands by myself and didn't ask that i hurry back. (in fact, i told him that i wasn't going to hurry. i needed some time to be alone.) of course i ended up with a migraine from my sleepless night courtesy of manning so it wasn't totally enjoyable, or all that long, but the gesture was lovely.
he cleaned all of mason's vomit out of the car and carseat, vacuumed the whole thing out and rearranged all the carseats so that we could 'graduate' madelyn to a booster-style seat and manning out of his carrier. yay! the car already looks much roomier with the carseat changes.
manning and maddux in the middle |
madelyn and mason in the back (because they can do their own buckles) |
he also did a fair amount of laundry and dishes. we have been talking about it for weeks, but he got thebaby gate back installed at the top of the stairs. manning isn't crawling yet, but he leaves the living room surprisingly fast so we just want to be safe - and ready.
the one good thing about sick kids is that we had to be home all weekend and were able to get a lot of things done (like finally getting all of the toys out from under the couch and vacuuming up the dust). we even opted out of church this morning. we had planned on doing so yesterday just to give us a break from germs and to finish recovering (not everyone has a normal appetite or energy level yet) but then manning was up since about 3:30 and matt and i were spent.
so thankful for my loving husband and partner. love.

It's always nice when someone else cleans up puke. Loathe that job - especially an object with nooks znx crannies. Yay Matt, my hero!
