two weeks ago i started going to the ymca to swim. the littles went to childcare and last week they (and i) were so congested that we didn't go (i figured since it was just the littles and i that it must be from the y). friday afternoon madelyn was pretty tired after school and, after cleaning up like she was asked, she asked if she could go rest in her room and read. a little odd, but not unheard of, i told her that she could. when i went to check on her before matt got home, she was asleep. we just let her sleep through dinner. she got up briefly but went to bed without any problems and slept all night. and then she slept all day on saturday. she was feeling all better on sunday morning and had a great day. we figured she was fine and was just worn out from school (she is often very tired when she gets home).
monday morning she said that she was feeling like she was going to throw-up. she even went to the bathroom a few times. she didn't have a fever and wasn't behaving differently, so i was torn about whether to send her to school or not. and then maddux threw-up! he totally caught me off guard! i was watching madelyn for any signs of illness and missed his attempt to get to the bathroom. he had several more false "throw-up" trips to the bathroom so i stopped chasing him. (after all, we were getting everyone ready for school and mornings are kind of busy for me.) and then, yep, you guessed it, he threw-up again.
so into the car with an empty trashcan, we headed off to take mason to school and run a few errands. i didn't have any options for leaving him at home so i had madelyn ride the bus to limit the car time for him and then headed off to drop off mason. i really had to run errands because we didn't have valentines for the kids to take to school yet and madelyn needed hers on tuesday. thankfully, he didn't throw-up anywhere and was in pretty good spirits the whole time.
he did crash when we got home though and was pretty pitiful for the rest of the day.
after school, madelyn joined mason and i in making the valentines. we were running several projects because i signed up for the 'goodie bag' for mason's class party on friday in addition to the 52 valentines we needed between the two classes.
maddux took some pictures for us too.
