i hope that there has been some amount of usefulness to this series. i will try to be much more brief in my 'tip' each time if i attempt another themed series. so here is the last one "loading up" and this was the part that gave me the most grief with our first and second - who/what do you load first, how do you return the cart, what about when it is raining/snowing. i over analyze the logistics of efficiency partnered with paranoia for the perception of those watching me load up. but here we go...
loading up
i always try to park next to a cart return, even if it means parking much further away. when we come out with the cart i load kids first in bad weather or items first if it is nice out. i had a difficult time with who to load first once i went from one to two kids, but what i worked out is you load in order of most likely to wander in front of a car - walkers first, baby last. once everything is in the car, i just swing the cart into the return right next to us and enjoy the few moments of silence before rejoining the action waiting for me in the car.
does anyone else walk very slowly back to the driver's seat some days?
love.

You're funny. Yes, I've been known to take my time getting in - especially at home when all kids are safely buckled and we're about to go somewhere. Or when we return home and i have things to unload - in garage and only if not too hot, too.
