a taste of spring

today was beautiful - well it was 70 and there was some sun. it wasn't quite as sunny as yesterday but the warmer temperatures made a big difference.

after church we went to bjs wholesale for some shopping and the "read across america day". they were reading dr. seuss books, had little cupcakes and bottle water for the kids and there was a drawing for door prizes. matt and the kids listened to the stories while manning and i went and did the shopping.

once we were finished, we stopped by the gas station to fill up the van. while we were there, matt got a call that we had won a door prize - early reader flash cards. fantastic! i had just picked up a little toy madelyn wanted at bjs for her easter basket and this could go in mason's. we swung back by and i ran in to pick up the prize. when i got inside they asked if i had two kids. yes, i have four. well, it looks like we had won a second prize too! they were just getting ready to call me (matt put in one entry and i put one in for each kid). we had also won a sleeping bag and a copy of green eggs and ham. it was nice to win and even nicer to win in a way that the kids didn't know about. now we have some free gifts for easter.

when we got home, matt and the kids played outside. matt washed both cars and the three bigs played with their water table. manning got in on some fresh air too. i set up the pack-and-play in the garage so that he could be out of the sun but still enjoy some fresh air. i was inside cleaning and baking with the windows open. ahh. i can not wait for this to be everyday weather. but first it is going to get cold and snow again. at least we got a little taste of it today. love.

It was 25 this a.m. when I walked Max. It has seemed cold here! Yesterday was cold and windy. BUT it is supposed to be in 60s tomorrow and 70 Friday. Can't wait. I am anxious to return to my deck! Can't wait to sit out and read.
