mops service

inspired by my friend, kellie, i suggested that our mops group do some 'service' projects in the community. not only is it what pleases jesus, but it is a good way to train our children to think of others. for the march meeting i suggested we collect sugar for the pantry of a local domestic violence organization. lots of people give up sugar in some form for lent (coffee, chocolate, etc) so it seemed like a good fit. and it didn't really add any extra effort since we would all go to the grocery store at least once during the month. our goal was 30 bags (we aren't a huge group and average 30 ladies at each meeting), as of now we have 27 bags! i was quite pleased and can't wait to drop it off. we have also been praying for the people who work at the organization (staff and volunteers) and their clients who will use the sugar.

i am hoping someone else will step up to lead in this area, but i am willing to do it because it is something i want to make sure my family is doing and it is easy to forget to make time for service. love.

Yay! This is fantastic. Great idea and like you said, accessible. I agree wholeheartedly with your points about serving with our kids :)
