art splash

today we went to a free kids' art fair.  there are lots of take home crafts and music and dance performances at a local art center (ballet, art museum, theater, etc.) and the whole thing had a 'super hero' theme.  it was very crowded.  very crowded.  and that is matt's most favorite thing (heavy, heavy sarcasm here).  all in all it was a nice event and the kids had a wonderful time.  unfortunately, i forgot to bring the camera (i had the case just not the camera) so most of the pictures were from my phone and, therefore, blurry.

the central horse sculpture was dressed as a super hero too.
madelyn making a super headband while mason made a mask.  the lines were very long for all of the activities but they moved pretty quickly.

maddux rode on daddy the whole time and chose not to participate in any activities.
the face painting line was the longest, but they were awesome painters!  all three kids got to go at once (madelyn is far left, mason middle and maddux right in picture).

madelyn went simple with a pink flower for "flower girl"
capitan america
spider-man got a little smudged on the car ride home.
daddy insisted that they take a bath to wash off the masks before being set free in the house so that we wouldn't find paint on everything.  it was a good thing too because maddux was wiped out.  (this is how i found him when i got back from running a few errands on my own.)  love.

Matt's personality makes me smile. Even though he's not a fan of crowds, he did for the kids. And I'm so with him on immediate face paint removal.
