nana picked this weekend because the other weekend this month she was considering madelyn didn't have a soccer game and she really wanted to see one. unfortunately, this weekend was team pictures so we were there more than an hour early and had a long time to keep the boys entertained before the game even started. there is a playground next to the fields so the boys played while madelyn and daddy went inside with the mob for pictures. there were a lot of big kids playing tag and knocking down little kids so nana and i had to step in a few times to politely ask them to slow down and watch out for the little kids (it was also extremely crowded so it just wasn't a good idea for them to be playing tag anyway).

madelyn and her school friend, elsah, who is also on her team |
the kids all took turns sitting on nana's lap (well, madelyn had a huge meltdown over taking turns and i had to physically remove her two different times - long story but it was mainly because she was super tired from having mason share her bed last night so nana could use his).

madelyn's pose is SO matt that i had to do a double-take at how exactly she did it! he thinks i am crazy but i have been to enough of his games and lifted with him at the gym to know that this is how he stands - exactly. |

this time, madelyn was happy to be leaving the game. |
maddux and mason took turns with my camera to pass the time. the mainly took blurry pictures and unflattering angles so i am not sharing.
and, of course, the post-game snack was a pile of sugar! but the cookies were super cute and they were kind enough to share with the siblings too.
it was a beautiful day to be outside although it was a little colder than we expected with the wind. now on to our next adventure for the day! love.

So funny Madelyn does a. 'Matt pose.' No offense but that is a pretty putrid shade of green (their uniforms).
i never thought of it as 'green' before! they are reversible - one side is yellow and one side is blue - the whole league uses the same uniform with one blue and one yellow team on each field. it is just the luck of the draw about which color you have for the pictures because this week her team is yellow, next week they are blue. but yellow and blue do make green! :)
