tuesday tip - get ready to wait

always be ready to wait

i always (well at least a good 99.9% of the time) have something ready for the kids in case of a long wait.  my must haves include sheets of stickers (you can find flat books of 300 for $1), pocket-sized notebook or coloring book, 8-pack of crayons (these come in themes now which keep the kids excited and inspired about using them) and "i spy".  (i have also picked up themed all-in-one packs with stickers, crayons and a coloring book for $1 at michaels and other stores.) all of these take up very little room in my diaper bag, are cheap enough to throw away, require sitting still and are readily available.  "i spy" is the best for shopping or any time on the move.  we "spy" colors, letters, numbers, etc.  it keeps them busy and allows me to focus.  plus, if i am really lucky, they start doing the "spying" and i can just shop.

what is your best go-to for long waits?

love.
